The Miss Namibia Organisation announced the semi-finalists for both the Miss Namibia and Miss Teen Namibia 2025 pageants on Friday under the theme ‘Celebrating Legacy, Embodying Unity – Consolidating Namibian Beauty’.
NBC spokesperson Beaulah Boois-Beukes said the official reveal marked the first major milestone on the road to the prestigious national crowning ceremonies, showcasing the young women who are set to compete for the coveted crowns.
“With an impressive number of entries of over 100 hopefuls, Miss Teen Namibia has 20 semi-finalists, whilst Miss Namibia boasts a remarkable 28 multi-talented semi-finalists,” she shared.
Boois-Beukes said the pageantry reflects a deep commitment to fostering inclusive representation, and honouring the unique heritage of the Namibian nation.
“The diverse line-up of young women from across Namibia truly reflects the nation’s multicultural identity and growing commitment to inclusivity, with contestants representing a wide range of regions, backgrounds and aspirations,” said the communication specialist.
A familiar face to the country’s pageantry that has graced international runways is Johanna Swartbooi, who has returned with vigour and determination.
She is an award-winning international model, assessor designer and creative entrepreneur.
“Today, I returned to the Miss Namibia platform more determined than ever. My advocacy aligns with the Miss Namibia platform, which is empowering women and young people to follow their dreams and transform creativity into sustainable careers with this platform,” said the 27-year-old.
Hailing from Vaalgras in the //Kharas region, Swartbooi wants to expand, reach and champion creativity as a powerful economic driver to build a future where talent meets opportunity, and every dream has the space to thrive.
NBC director general Stanley Benjamin Similo urged Namibia to rally behind the pageant, with Debmarine Namibia CEO Willy Mertens reaffirming their commitment to investing in the girl child.
This year, the spotlight turns to the Oshana region, which promises to unearth not only its rich cultural heritage but also the vibrancy and spirit of Namibian youth.
Preliminaries to select the Top 10 is set for 16-17 May.
On 18-19 July, the crowning ceremonies promise to bring northern Namibia to life.
