MultiChoice recently announced the addition of Channel 7, a non-denominational Christian community radio station, to its audio bouquet on DStv channel 825 and GOtv channel 303, respectively.
The audio channel launches in Namibia today making the Namibian audio channel available to an extensive number of subscribers across southern Africa.
MultiChoice Namibia is currently prioritising investment in promoting local entertainment by implementing a number of initiatives to enable local content on its bouquets.
General manager of MultiChoice Namibia Roger Gertze commented: “One of our core objectives is to ensure that our service enhances [the experience of] our subscribers by bringing them content that they can connect with.
“We are, therefore, delighted to have a proudly Namibian radio station on our bouquet and excited that local content will be broadcast beyond our borders. The purpose of Channel 7 is to broadcast the whole spectrum of Biblical lifestyle, with hourly news bulletins and actuality.
Neal van den Berg from Channel 7 says: “Our programming consists of 50% Christian and 50% secular programming in Afrikaans, English, German and Oshiwambo, making it relevant to Namibians from all walks of life. We are excited about the partnership with MultiChoice to avail this content to an increased number of households in Namibia and abroad,”
Channel 7 will be available to the DStv Premium, Compact, Family, Access packages, as well as the GOtv Value, GOtv Plus and GOtv Lite packages from today, August 1.
