The British Council on Friday launched a connecting classroom –
Dreams and Teams – that will allow intercultural dialogue through three ways of partnerships between schools in sub-Saharan Africa and the UK.
Connecting classrooms was launched with the aim of creating opportunities for schools in the UK to link those in Africa and encouraging intercultural dialogue. The programmes also caters for increased learner’s knowledge and understanding of each other’s society, while Dreams and Teams are aimed at developing youth through sport and international educational links.
In his introductory remarks, British High Commissioner Alasdair McDermott said: “This programme is ambitious insofar as it includes 200 schools across 19 African countries and caters for training for 200 African teachers, who themselves will train a minimum number of 8??????’??
