WINDHOEK– Comedy last Friday night at the Hilton Hotel’s Kalabar was more than I expected.
The Free Your Mind buddies made sure that everybody forgot their problems that night with their humorous jibes, and best of all, delivering one of the best medicines that comes cheaply but which that seems few can afford, laughing. While the comedians where getting ready to hit up stage, local Dj, Mzo, warmed up the crowd with awesome house tunes which set a relaxed mood in the venue. And as the crowd was getting a little relaxed, comedian Alex Madjarov, re-activated the mood with his Maths jokes. The funniest joke was when he said that people are so much scared of Maths more than death and come to think of it, I found that line quite interesting as it left me questioning myself.
While people were still brushing off the Maths joke, another comedian, Taap the guy, hit us with the “if the shoe fit wear it” joke, which wasa jokey broadside to Oscar Pistorius invoking a fair amount giggling among the crowd. The atmosphere was taken by storm when Joe White took on the stage, the man know how to keep you laughing non-stop and he made sure that everyone is in delight. White is just one of those comedians you can never get enough off and he just know how to keep the crowd spellbound.
Overall, I think this is an event to look out for. If you missed out on this show next time do make sure you fit comedy night into your busy schedules, trust me, it’s worth it.
