WINDHOEK

Three teams are vying for the title as the race intensifies in the Kavango Women’s Football League with a paltry three points separating early pace-setters Sunshine Football Club and third placed Sarusungu Beauties FC after seven rounds of matches.

Sunshine FC are the only unbeaten side in the league so far – having notched up five wins and two draws to go top of the table on 17 points followed by RCE Soccer Babes FC, a mere point adrift.

In the bottom half, fourth placed Young Ones are a distant 12 points off the pace of the log leaders but still boast a game in hand over the runaway title-chasing trio above them.

Winless Noordgrens are occupying the basement with their only point courtesy of a draw after losing three matches and having conceded the most number of goals alongside Super Strikers (11) while finding the opposition’s net on one occasion.

This weekend sees log leaders Sunshine FC taking on 3rd placed Sarusungu Beauties FC in what promises to be a real humdinger while 2nd placed RCE Soccer Babes have a date with 4th placed Young Ones.
