Debmarine secures air navigation services certification

In an exciting development that promises to catalyse economic growth and bolster regional connectivity, De Beers Marine (Debmarine Namibia) has achieved a significant milestone in the aviation sector by securing their inaugural Air Navigation Services Certificate. The Namibia Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) recently officially recognised the achievement, which they stated marks a triumphant culmination of a rigorous five-phase certification process.

The NCAA plays a pivotal role rooted in the guiding principles of the Civil Aviation Act, 2016 (Act No.6 of 2016), in shaping the civil aviation landscape, ensuring effective growth while upholding the highest
industry standards.

Through the certification, Debmarine Namibia has effectively showcased their capacity to provide a secure and dependable aviation service that seamlessly aligns with the exacting standards under the meticulous guidance of the Namibian civil aviation regulations.

“This achievement stands as a testimony to the dedication and expertise of the entire De Beers Marine Namibia (Pty) Ltd staff. Their successful navigation of a comprehensive five-phase certification process underscores their ability to offer a safe and reliable aviation service. This accomplishment empowers them to provide Aeronautical Meteorological Services at Oranjemund Airport, solidifying their distinguished position as a contributor to the aviation sector’s growth,” reads a statement from NCAA executive director Toska Sem.

The NCAA added that it is equally glad to inform the members of the public that the Air Navigation Services under the Civil Aviation Authority is at phase 3 of its certification process and are confident that they will follow suit in due course.

“This pivotal step not only holds intrinsic value for De Beers Marine Namibia (Pty) Ltd but also resonates widely within the broader Namibian aviation industry. By fostering economic growth and enhanced regional connectivity, this achievement amplifies the pivotal role of the aviation sector in driving progress and development,” Sem stated.
