The police in Kavango East have not yet found any possible lead or suspect/s in connection with the murder of a soldier who was found dead in the bushes.

The body of the NDF soldier was found at Divundu near Divundu police check point on December 4. The deceased soldier, who has been identified as Tutjavi Teenage Uasanakuani ,44, was from Kunene Region and worked at Divundu army base.

“We are still busy with investigations. The suspect is still at large. The deceased was last seen alone but we are hard at work with investigations,” Kavango East regional crime investigations coordinator Deputy Commissioner Willie Bampton told New Era.

According to Bampton, the late Uasanakuani’s body was discovered by a man reportedly driving on the gravel road a few metres away from the Divundu checkpoint, in the bushes between the Divundu military base and the Kavango River.
