TSUMEB – Dundee Precious Metals on Monday donated furniture worth N$1 million to the Community Skills Development Foundation (Cosdef) centre in Tsumeb for further distribution to local schools.

The donation is made up of 720 desks and 870 chairs, and is expected to benefit 16 schools. The director of education in the Oshikoto region, Aletta Eises, thanked Dundee for their support during the handover.

“With your support, we can ensure that we move forward,” she said. She said other business entities should emulate Dundee’s example.

“If you are investing in learners then you are investing in the right people for the betterment of this country. Dundee has always been supportive of the directorate of education in the Oshikoto region, and we thank their leadership for financing our activities,” said Eises.

Dundee Precious Metals vice president and managing director Zebra Kasete said they are happy to assist learners, adding that they are hoping to employ some in future.

“We want to make sure the learners of Tsumeb receive quality education by improving their capabilities,” he said.

Cosdef Tsumeb manager, Ntemba Sihela, also expressed his appreciation for Dundee’s commitment, and said Dundee has been a faithful supporter since their inception in 2015/2016. -Nampa
