-The Zambesi Media Investment (ZMI), in conjunction with Zambezi Regional Council is still calling for entries for the first ever Miss Zambezi scheduled for June 28 in Katima Mulilo.

Organiser of the event, George Simataa, says entry forms are now out and all Zambezian girls between the ages of 18 to 24 and  who have never given birth are advised to enter before May 10.  The pageant will be hosted under the theme “Celebrating our culture, and endorse it”. Simataa says there will be a launch on May 24 in Katima Mulilo when people will get to meet the ten finalists before the main event.

“We decided to host this pageant with the main aim of bringing out the hidden beauty of our young ones, to reflect a true Namibian since we are also planning to approach the Miss Namibia organisers for endorsement so that whoever wins Miss Zambezi this year can will automatically qualify for the Miss Namibia beauty pageant next year,” says Simataa.

He adds since Miss Zambezi is going to be an annual event starting this year, it’s going to be the best ever event in the regions, filled with red carpets and entertainment extravaganza.  “All stakeholders,  must also start crowning their girls to see a true reflection of Namibian Beauty,” he advises.
