Sports journalist Hesron Kapanga is officially out of the market as he tied the knot with his longtime sweetheart, Stephnie Kapanga, in a beautiful ceremony last month. This marks a love story that began nearly a decade ago.

Kapanga, a sports reporter at Nampa, shared the origins of their romance. He vividly recalled first seeing Stephnie in February 2016. 

“I saw a beautiful lady. But after that, our paths never crossed again until August where I saw her at the reception area at the College of Arts. I didn’t waste no time asking for her number,” he stated. 

However, their story took an unexpected turn. Kapanga admits he held onto her number for a while, waiting until October 2016 to finally reach out. 

“When I finally reached her inbox the rest is history quickly won Stephnie over. She loved my dry sense of humour which she can’t get enough of 9 years later,” he added, 

The couple also shed light on the challenges and strengths of their relationship, particularly concerning Kapanga’s demanding career. 

“As a sports journalist, I told her from the start that my job requires extra hours of work. 

Stephnie initially struggled with his frequent travel and late-night sports coverage, especially as their daughter found it difficult when he was away. But with growing up, the family now understand it’s dad’s job, and they are supportive and understanding. 

“The little time I get to spend, I try, as I also need to rest, meaning mom and the kids all want a piece of time, but they rarely get 100% of it,” he said. 

Their approach to finances also highlights their partnership. “Financially, we do things together, and we have done that for the last six years that we have been living together. We usually have important bills that need to be paid, and after that is done, we then see what else needs our financial attention.”

Stephnie, for her part, was drawn to Hesron’s openness. “What attracted me to Hesron was his honesty. As he was emotionally going through the most at the time, he was open, honest, and transparent about it. 

Thus, it made it easy for me to stay and overcome the challenge with him as we got to know each other, and it was easy to fall in love with his fragile heart.”

Like any other couple they faced some challenges in the relationship they had challenges and the most prominent one was the children as they have children from previous relationships but they managed to find a ground on how they want their children to be raised.
