Construction of the SGX Distributors - Simpex warehouse began in March this year and this new asset, built to the specifications and needs of SGX Distributors, is scheduled to be finalised in March 2023. SGX Distributors Simpex is a provider of trade marketing and distribution services to the Namibian Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry and grows its brands through targeted sales activities while executing the marketing strategies of their principals.
Ben Jooste, Chief Executive Officer at Oryx Properties said that Oryx Properties bought an erf in northern industrial a few years ago, which became available around the time that SGX Distributors – Simpex was looking for bigger premises.
“They needed a much larger warehouse with at least a 3500sqm footprint and allowance for an above average pallet stacking height as well as a big yard for the trucks. We grabbed the opportunity with our erf in Iscor Street, and then pitched our business idea to SGX Distributors – Simpex.”
Oryx Properties has been working closely with SGX Distributors – Simpex over the past year to ensure that all their needs are taken care of. This meant adhering to the specific requirements of the custom-made sprinkler system within the warehouse, as well as the placement of surveillance cameras and the requested balance between the warehouse, office space and front yard. “All of the changes, input and requests we had were carefully evaluated and implemented by Oryx and this has been a refreshing and exciting customer service experience. Halfway during the project, our needs changed, and the Oryx team was able to extend the warehouse to 4500 sqm. We are proud to be associated with Oryx Properties who have stood the test of time,” said Lange.
Oryx acquires and administers retail, industrial, office and residential property. “That is our core business and just like a tenant looking for a professional company to deal with, we enjoy dealing with professional tenants as this promises to be a win-win for both sides.
