President Hage Geingob on Friday commissioned three new ambassadors to represent the country abroad, including former home affairs deputy minister Elia Kaiyamo, who is posted to China.

Geingob‘s former chief of protocol, Neville Gertze, has been posted to the United Nations, it was also announced during the commissioning ceremony at State House. Gertze is not a newcomer to diplomatic circles, as a former ambassador to Malaysia and Germany, the Vatican City, Italy and Turkey.

Career diplomat Panduleni Shingenge – who has previously been posted to Zimbabwe, France and Italy and Sweden – will now serve as Namibia’s ambassador to Algeria.
