Kashipu Fun Day Vol. 4 set for end of July

The four-day Kashipu Fun Day Vol. 4 is scheduled for 27-30 July 2023 at Ondangwa Trade Fair Centre.

Activities on offer include food, music, beauty pageants, the battle of cultural groups, a parade through town, a kiddies’ corner, eating competitions and lots of giveaways.

The event usually takes place at the Okapya Bridge but was moved to the Ondangwa Trade Fair Centre for control measures, according to the organisers of Kashipu Investment CC.

The music bash will be hosted daily with upcoming and established artists performing and will commence with a ‘Throwback Thursday’ of strictly Old School music.

Due to popular demand, the Miss Kashipu Fun Day Vol. 4 will be crowned and application for entry is open until Saturday. Applications should be emailed to kashipu2014@gmail.com

What is new this year is the Battle of Cultural Groups.

“We realised that our cultures are slowly dying out, so we decided to host this battle to keep our cultural groups alive because they hardly get a chance to perform at events,” said the organisers.

Registration for this battle is N$500 per group and the prizes are 1st Prize: N$3 000, 2nd Prize: N$2 000 and 3rd Prize: N$1 000.

Other competitions include a Pool tournament and an Eat-a-bread competition.

The Kiddies’ Corner will have jumping castles, face painting, colouring pages, toys, and other fun games.

The booking for various stalls/stands has already started and the public can book for their stands at this event.

Radio Energy decided to give away a free stall to one lucky school in the north.

“For your school to stand a chance to walk away with this stall, SMS the name of your school to 100. Lastly, we are also giving away four free stalls for art and crafts.”

Sponsors on board thus far include Predator Energy Drink, Coca-Cola, Bakpro, Radio Energy, Alv Consulting Engineers, Okapya Liner Transport, Visible Communication, Pasta Polana, and Namdrive.
