WINDHOEK– Local Hip Hop sensation KK, takes on South African Kwaito and Hip Hop stars, K.O and Kid X when Bermuda Music presents a Snapbacks and Tattoos show tonight at LQ Lounge.
K.O, real name Ntokozo Mdluli, is a South African rapper who rose to prominence with the group Teargas after releasing their critically acclaimed debut album K’shubile K’bovu in 2006, under Electromode Music. K.O broke away from Hip Hop group, Teargas, to pursue his solo career. He released the singles Mission Statement, Son of a Gun and Caracara preceding the release of his solo debut studio album, Skhanda Republic.He co-runs a music and entertainment company called “Cashtime Life”.
Kid X, real name Bonginkosi Mahlangu, has had an unorthodox rise to fame having been discovered after being recommended to Teargas’ K.O. Right after scoring three consecutive number ones on South Africa’s YFM’s Hot 9 Nine Hip Hop chart, Kid-X put his solo career to an unexpected halt. The two artists are most commonly known as being the men behind the infectious Caracara single that has been a hit on many local dance floors. The success of Caracara saw Kid X being featured in three of South African Hip Hop biggest hits before releasing a hit single of his own. Caracara has gone on to break airplay records spending three weeks on the top of the South African Radio airplay chart.
Other local artists featuring tonight include Lil D, Mappz, KBrizzy, Rush, SeanK, Flexout Gang, JBlack and Stitch. The show starts at 20h00 and tickets are sold at the door for N$ 100 before 22H00 and N$ 200 after 22H00
