WINDHOEK– Denise Mannel aka Lady on the Sax could not help but endear herself to many music kovers including jazz lovers when she made a nightly sojourn on at the Warehouse on aThursday lately
The night indeed proved an unforgettable jazzy affair living the audience screamed for some more as the Lady on the Sax wooed them taking them on an ecstatic jazz journey. The Lady on the Sax has been on the jazzy circuit for two years now, and has fast been warming herself into the hearts of many, stamping and rubbing her presence on the industry not as someone who is here on short stay but here to stay. “I have been a Jazz fan since I was little and I always knew it nis something I was going to end up doing in future.”
She performed at the 2012 Jazz Festival and had a big performance at the Warehouse early this year. “It is hard to get a band to join so you just had to make it happen for yourself.”
“The Namibian Jazz industry is not that promising, but when you love something you will always find a way of getting it. We always has a small audience because most people find Jazz very heavy, but seeing the way that few members of the audience respond you will want to go on and on,” says the Lady in the Sax.
“To my fan, thank you very much for the support. I have shows line up and planning on releasing my album very soon. Jazz is easy to listen to and the sky is the limit with jazz,” she winds up.
