Oeuvre Tiina Angula is one of many young talented creatives who keep wowing people with astounding pieces of art. Able to use both hands effortlessly to draw or paint, Angula specialises in painting on clothing, including T-shirts, denim jackets and shoes that give them a revamped new feel and look.

“People come with their ideas already and I execute what they would like done, but others encompass eclectic influences in an intimate exploration of my creative process and from other artists’ work and mediums,” the artist told Youth Corner.

She also does pencil-drawn portraits in different sizes, from A4 to A0, and delves into acrylic and oil painting.

The 26-year-old took to drawing and painting as a mere hobby and as a means of catharsis, and while growing up in Oranjemund, Angula always used to make portraits as well as customised items for her friends. Born in Olukonda, Angula is now based in Windhoek, majoring in architecture.

She officially launched her brand, Oeuvre_Lago in March 2018. Angula uses water resistant fabric paint which does not wash off clothing, but clients must follow a few care instructions to preserve the paint quality.

When she is not consumed with drawing or painting custom designs, the artist enjoys playing football. Asked about the current art education system, Angula said most traditional school systems don’t house the highest possible chance of realising learners’ creative abilities and potential.

“So, if you are able to work on anything, start with what you have,” she advised. For a unique customised design, find Angula on Instagram and Twitter @oeuvre_lago.
