I hope this message finds you well and full of determination. As you navigate your educational journey, I encourage you to reflect on your vision for the future.
What changes do you aspire to bring about in your home, your immediate community or village, Namibia and the world? Your time in school presents a golden opportunity to shape that vision and work towards making it a reality.
It is important to recognize that being in school offers you a unique chance to steer clear of the destructive activities that sometimes lurk in the streets. Instead, channel your energy and focus into your studies. Education is the key to unlocking your potential and becoming a productive and responsible citizen, not just in Namibia but also on a global scale.
Take a moment today to appreciate the simple blessings you may often take for granted, like having three meals a day (breakfast, lunch, and dinner). These meals are made possible by the hard work and dedication of those who toil tirelessly to provide for their families. But remember, circumstances change, and there may come a time when you will need to step into the role of provider for others, perhaps younger siblings or extended family members.
The book of Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 reminds us that there is a time for everything and a season for every activity under the sun. Right now, your time is meant for school — whether it’s primary, secondary, or tertiary education. This time will lay the foundation for your future endeavours, be it securing a job, starting a business, or finding a life partner. Let’s reflect on the story of Adam and Eve in the book of Genesis. God created Adam and placed him in the garden of Eden to work and make it productive. Later, God saw that Adam needed a companion, so He created Eve. This story underscores that there is a time and place for everything. For young boys, your time in school is akin to tending the garden; focus on your studies, work hard, and make it productive. The right time for romantic relationships will come when you are better equipped to provide and protect.
Young ladies, your primary focus should be on completing your studies without distractions from boys or men. Your education is your ticket to a bright future. Boys who try to engage you in romantic relationships while you are in school are not respecting your potential. Stay focused, and God will lead you to a man who truly values and appreciates what you bring to the table.
Your families, communities, Africa, and the world at large need your dedication and commitment. The future of these entities depends on young people like you who are determined to create positive change. Let’s channel our time and energy into preparing for that golden future. Together, we can achieve great things.
