Life Fighters win promotion to top-flight league

Otjiwarongo based outfit Life Fighters gained promotion to the top-flight league football after they were crowned champions of the 2024/25 Northern-West Stream First Division at the weekend.

This comes after they played to a 1-1 draw against Eleven Warriors FC, at Omulunga Stadium, in Grootfontein. They went into their Saturday fixture needing a point to clinch the league title as they had 41 points, whilst their closest rivals, Okakarara Warriors remained at 35 points.

On Saturday, they only had one job to do, which was to collect maximum points at best or settle for a single point against Eleven Warriors to ensure their return to topflight football.

Commenting on the promotion, fighters team manager Reja Kala Kambanda said it was a dream to return the team to the topflight football league. “It was a tough fight, and many changes were made in our quest to return to the premier league. I am happy with how the boys performed this season, it was a team effort and thanks to the players and the management, everyone played a crucial part,” he said.

The Blue Army who were relegated at the end of the 2023/24 Debmarine premiership season, return to the premiership, joining Rundu based outfit, Rundu Chiefs and Blue Boys from the coastal side.
