Lüderitz lights up for Christmas

Home National Lüderitz lights up for Christmas

Lüderitz

Lüderitz last Sunday lit up its Christmas tree at the Lüderitz Town Council’s office. It is the first time in the history of the town that this was done, symbolising a new beginning for the town, said Lüderitz Deputy Mayor Brigitte Fredericks.

The ceremony was held at the Lüderitz Town Council’s head office on Sunday at 18h00.
The council also lit up streets at the town.

“The council came up with this initiative to symbolise the harmony and peace that the birth of Christ brought for everyone. The lighting up of the Christmas tree brings hope to the residents and potential investors of the town. We are opening the floodgates of heaven for our beautiful town,” stated Fredericks.

The switching on of the Christmas tree was witnessed by the residents of the town and the Southern Choir entertained the crowd with Christmas chorals.

On behalf of Lüderitz Mayor Hilaria Mukapuli, Deputy Mayor Fredricks wished the residence of Lüderitz a peaceful and merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
