WINDHOEK – A man was denied bail for allegedly fondling a five-year girl’s private parts in Mondesa, Swakopmund, last week.
Paulus Mweenda, 36, faces a charge of rape. He appeared in the Swakopmund Magistrate’s Court on Monday.

He allegedly fondled the girl’s genitals while masturbating and releasing sperm onto her body.
The incident took place at the accused’s house in Mondesa last weekend.

Mweenda allegedly lured the child into his room to watch television. He then allegedly undressed her, stripped himself naked and proceeded with the act.

Magistrate Nelao Brown heard the case in the Swakopmund Magistrate’s Court on Monday, while Tanya Jacobie represented the State.
Mweenda was remanded in custody pending further police investigations into the matter, and to allow him to prepare for legal representation.

His case will be heard again on March 11, 2015.
