RUNDU – A Good Samaritan recently donated an assortment of clothing worth an unspecified amount to the people of Kavango East.
Kavango East Governor, Dr Samuel Mbambo, received the donation, consisting of clothes for both children and adults.
“We are really moved by your donation, it is a blessing to give rather than to sin. When I received the message that someone wants to donate clothes to my office, I decided to invite my constituency councillors to come and receive it with me, as they are the people on the ground who know the people who need clothes,” he said.
Anthony Both, a manager at Logistics Support Services company at the coastal town of Walvis Bay donated the clothes.
“I started giving clothes to OVCs in Arandis by buying them school clothes and I also thought of giving to the Kavango East communities. I see a lot of people need clothes. I know it’s not enough but for now it’s what I can provide to help out. My father had a giving heart, so I inherited his generosity,” explained Both.
The clothes were later divided among the six constituencies of the Kavango East Region namely, Rundu Urban and Rural, Mashare, Mukwe, Ndonga Linena and Ndiyona.
The clothes will be given to the disadvantaged and poverty-stricken and also to people who have lost their belongings in shack fires, the governor said.
“This may seem small but it will help the people in need a lot. We are grateful for your generous donation to our people,” said Mbambo.
