Miss Teen crowning tonight

Miss Teen crowning tonight

The long wait is ending tonight in   Lüderitz, as one of the young contestants in Miss Teen will be the dubbed queen of all.

Spokesperson of Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) Beaulah Boois-Beukes said the preparations for Miss Teen and Miss Namibia were so far going great.

Lüderitz is a hub of excitement, as the jitters of hosting the event trickle in.

“Firstly, for the host town, this will be a historical event as it’s the very first time the pageant will be hosted in the //Kharas region. Everything is different, from the venue to the stage set up – watch the Miss Teen Namibia, Miss Namibia and NBC space as we get closer and closer to the grand reveal,” said Boois-Beukes.

She said this year, there is a strong competition between the finalists.

From the teens to the Miss Namibia contestants, a very well-rounded group of young and educated women will be walking this stage tonight. “I’m looking forward to seeing the majestic sea views that  Lüderitz has to offer – beauty meeting culture and sea,” she said.

She further said NBC is beyond ready, from the coverage of the Miss Universe in 1995 to now, NBC is a major force to be reckoned with.

“No production is too big or too small for the corporation. In terms of entertainment, attendees can expect a blend of cultural and modern dancing, plus never-before-seen
moves from the finalists as well as local talent to be revealed on D-Day,” she said.

The likes of Dawn, Melissa Poulton, ST Key Fashion and Aina Shigwedha are some of the designers whose designs will be worn by the contestants. “The costumes are both modern and a blend of traditional. I sincerely urge the public who won’t be in attendance to watch across all NBC multimedia platforms, from nbcPlus to television and radio. I invite all our television viewers and radio listeners to watch history in the making as the crowning ceremonies unfold,” she said.

Chief executive officer of Miss Namibia organisation Umbi Karuaihe-Upi told VIBEZ! Miss Teen and Miss Namibia’s top 10 finalists are all in great spirits, and ready for tonight.

“Most have never been to Lüderitz, and it adds to the excitement and experience they are anticipating to have. Our Miss Namibia Team is beyond excited and happy,” she said.

She added this year’s pageants will be unprecedented, as they are right at the edge of the Atlantic Ocean.
