MTC backs ICT Summit with N$110 000

MTC Namibia has pledged N$110 000 towards the successful hosting of the 9th edition of the ICT Summit. 

This year’s ICT Summit is scheduled for 12 to 16 October 2026 at the Ongwediva Trade Centre in the Oshana region. 

MTC financial pledge reaffirms its commitment to advancing digital transformation and technological innovation in Namibia. The sponsorship was officially announced ahead of the highly anticipated 9th edition of the ICT Summit.  The summit serves as Namibia’s premier platform for industry leaders, policymakers, innovators, entrepreneurs and technology enthusiasts to engage on critical issues shaping the future of information and communication technology in the country.

Speaking on the company’s support of the event, MTC’s corporate communications practitioner Erasmus Nekundi, said: “As a player in the industry, it is crucial for us to invest in initiatives that promote innovation, digital inclusion, and knowledge sharing within the ICT sector. Supporting platforms such as the ICT Summit aligns with MTC’s broader vision of empowering communities through technology and contributing to Namibia’s digital economy agenda”.

He added that MTC will continue to meaningfully harness strategic partnerships, drive impactful conversations, and create opportunities for collaboration within the technology sector. 

“As Namibia continues to embrace digital transformation, MTC remains steadfast in championing initiatives that foster innovation, skills development and sustainable technological growth. Our support for the ICT Summit, therefore, demonstrates our ongoing dedication to shaping a digitally empowered future for Namibia,” he said. 

Themed, ‘Harnessing ICT for Inclusive Growth, Digital Pathways to Reduce Unemployment and Eradicate Poverty’, this year’s summit will be hosted in the Oshana region.
