NAC, NCAA to host 2025 SOE Games in Swakopmund

NAC, NCAA to host 2025 SOE Games in Swakopmund

WALVIS BAY – The Namibia Airports Company (NAC), under the leadership of CEO Bisey /Uirab, has announced that it will host the State-Owned Enterprises’ (SOE) Games in Swakopmund from 1 to 6 July 2025.

The announcement was made on Tuesday during a press briefing at the Namport boardroom, where he highlighted the significance of sports in uniting public enterprises and enhancing cooperation.

“This platform further allows us to exchange views on governance, reflect deeply in terms of the overall management of public enterprises’ and renew our commitments to the service of the Namibian people through the privileged positions we occupy,” he stated.

The CEO emphasised the importance of collaboration among public enterprises.

The SOE games aim to involve over 4 000 employees from various public enterprises, providing a platform for them to engage in sport, while fostering camaraderie.

“We believe that when you bring over 4 000 public enterprises staff members to the coast, there will be a lot of activity around accommodation establishments and other facilities that will be used during that period,” /Uirab noted, calling on local businesses to prepare for increased demand for services.

He highlighted the broader impact of the games. “One of the key things that will happen during that time is obviously sporting events, but we will also hold our annual general meeting of the public enterprises CEOs, a gala dinner – and most importantly, we will identify a social responsibility project”.

The collaboration aims to not only benefit local businesses, but also support less-fortunate members of the community.

“We really call upon all the businesses to partner with us so we can work together to make that week a memorable week,” he added.

The SOE games have a history of fostering unity and health among employees.

He remarked: “Sport unites people, brings peace and ensures that people remain healthy. We, as public enterprises CEOs, really want to continue with this mantra”.

As preparations for the event began, he reassured the public of their commitment to safety and collaboration with local authorities, ensuring a successful gathering for public enterprises and the Namibian people.
