WINDHOEK – Former Brave Gladiators front-lady and qualified Namibia Football Association (NFA) instructor Salome Iyambo was on Monday unveiled as one of the 28 international postgraduate students selected to partake in the 19th edition class of the FIFA International Master in Management, Law and Humanities of Sport program.
Iyambo, who holds multiple CAF and FIFA coaching qualifications and is an integral part if the NFA’s Galz and Goals program, was along with her colleagues welcomed by the president of International Centre for Sports Studies (CIES) Pierre Cornu during a glittering ceremony held at De Montfort University in Leicester, England.
For the past eighteen years, the FIFA Master has been a training ground for future managers in international sport business and is now firmly established as one of the leading sports management degree courses in the world.
The new 2018-2019 class, which Iyambo is part of, will be based in England at De Montfort University’s renowned International Centre for Sports History and Culture as they complete the Humanities of Sport module.
Following completion of this first module, the class will move to Italy from January where they will begin their second module concerning studies in sports management at the SDA Bocconi School of Management in Milan. The class will then move from the end of March to Switzerland for the final Sports Law module at the University of Neuchâtel Law Faculty.
In addition to gathering a wide range of sports industry experts and renowned academics, the intensive program will include field visits to some of the biggest names in the world of sport as the class complete their academic studies.
The FIFA Master, which is coordinated by CIES and endorsed by FIFA, was named No.1 postgraduate sports management course in Europe in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2017 and 2018 by the global Sports Business International course rankings.
With over 90 percent of course graduates now working in sport and for organisations that include the International Olympic Committee (IOC), FIFA, the Fédération Internationale de Basketball (FIBA), the Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI), the Federazione Italiana Giuoco Calcio (FIGC), FC Barcelona and Burson Marsteller, the impact of the FIFA Master reaches across all continents and all sports.
