The first-ever Dr. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah Annual Boxing Bonanza, organised by MTC Salute Boxing Academy, will take place this Saturday, 20 December 2025, at the Helao Nafidi Business Expo Hall in the Ohangwena region.
To convey that the ‘fight is still on’, MTC Salute Boxing Academy held a press conference to welcome the international fighters and relay that preparations are well underway.
The bonanza will feature 24 fights, totaling 44 rounds, including the main bout, a title fight between Fillemon Nghutenanye of Salute Boxing and Ramel Macado of the Philippines for the WBO Global Title.
Speaking at the press conference, Salute Boxing Academy executive member Jason Naule reiterated that the fighters are ready and the fight is still on.
“The weigh-in will take place today in Helao Nafidi and I’m sure all the boxers are ready to take the first step of the fight, which is the weigh-in. We look forward to a very good fight and Salute Boxing is excited to see what the fighters have in store for us,” Naule said.
He further urged all fighters participating in the bonanza to prepare for travel and ensure their weight is ready.
MTC Chief Brand, Marketing, Communications, and Sustainability Officer, Tim Ekandjo, expressed excitement to be taking boxing across the country as he welcomed the international fighters and officials to Namibia.
“MTC has been in boxing for about 30 years, and we are still undefeated as a brand. We look forward to a great fight, a fight that is in honour of our first female and sitting President,” Ekandjo said.
