Ondangwa Regional Prosecutor Justine Shiweda has died. Relatives confirmed Shiweda’s passing to this publication.
Shiweda was shot and attacked with a corrosive substance in Ondangwa on 17 October 2025. The attackers allegedly first shot her and then doused her with acid, causing severe injuries.
According to Namibian law, the charge of attempted murder is expected to be amended to murder when the matter returns to court.
At least six suspects have been arrested in connection with the incident and remain in custody.
