Nudo has strongly denied a New Era report that quoted party leaders, saying that if re-elected to lead Otjinene, they would ensure that all decision-making jobs are reserved for people from that constituency and who are Nudo members.
Following a recent election rally at Otjinene, this reporter quoted party leaders as saying, if re-elected into power, positions such as those of school principals, mayors, CEO of the town council and many other strategic positions would be reserved for Nudo supporters.
However, secretary-general Meundju Jahanika refuted the report, saying Nudo party leaders were misquoted. “What we said is that if elected into power, jobs such as those of labourers, office cleaning, drivers should be reserved for locals,” Jahanika said.
The Nudo party will field candidates in 14 out of the 52 local authorities and 13 out of the 95 regional council elections scheduled for November 26, Jahanika confirmed.
For the regional council elections, Nudo will field candidates in the Daures and Omaruru constituencies of Erongo Region. In the Khomas Region, the party will field candidates for Katutura East and Khomasdal constituencies.
Elsewhere Nudo will field candidates in Khorixas, Kamanjab, K!gobs and Opuuo rural in the Kunene Region, it confirmed. In the Omusati Region Nudo will field one candidate in Ruacana.
In the Omaheke Region, Nudo will field candidates in Aminuis, Epukiro, Gobabis and Otjinene. The party will also field four candidates in the Otjozondjupa Region, namely in Okakarara, Omatako, Otjiwarongo and Tsumkwe.
For the local authority election the party will field candidates in Omaruru, Usakos, Walvis Bay, Swakopmund, Windhoek, Opuwo, Gobabis, Leonardville, Otjinene, Witvlei, Ruacana, Okahandja, Okakarara, Otjiwarongo.
