Nujoma to be honoured with horseracing bash

The Namibia Horseracing Association (NHRA) is set to honour the late Founding President Sam Nujoma with its highly-anticipated Independence Horse Racing Bash tomorrow at the Okahandja turf. 

The event, which kicks off at 10h00, promises an exciting day of racing as the NHRA celebrates the legacy of Nujoma and Namibia’s independence.

The action-packed event will feature 16 thrilling races, with the first race, the Nambred Juvenile 800 metres race, starting the action. 

The winner of this race will take home a prize of N$5 000. 

The final race of the day will be the JSB Independence Champion Import A-Division, offering a grand prize of N$150 000.

Among the horses set to compete in Okahandja are some of Namibia’s finest, including Boma, Imperial Ruby, Action Time, Starlile, Unbroken Promises, Woodland Ridge and Earl of Cardigan. 

These top horses will be representing various race stables, such as Otjinene Supporters Club, Khomas Turf Club, Naris Turf Club, Southern Horse Racing Club, WT Racing, Harambee Racing, Angermund Racing, De Waal Racing, Okahandja Racing Club, Ephat Racing, Extreme Racing, Tsumis Turf, Junias Racing and Professors Supporters Club.  -lmupetami@nepc.com.na
