WINDHOEK-The talented duo of Pule and Pistol, known by their stage name as Nyangaz, are basking in the glory of their debut album titled Kwaito Genesis, released last November.
The album ahs been titled Kwaito Genesis because they wanted to bring back the Kwaito genre, which is currently fading away. The album was produced by Greg of Tears Records and Elvo. The Kwaito duo worked together on their album with other artists such as Newturn whom she features on the song Andiithere, which is currently receiving a lot of airplays on local radio stations. Greg features on the song Ma Niggaz, which has a Hip Hop flavour.
Their first single, Vashakati, released earlier last year, received a lot of airplays on both radio stations and You Tube, and is still enjoying massive airplay on Base FM, Omulunga Radio and Energy100 FM. Vashakati has been on Kwaito Top 10 Chart of Energy100 FM for the past seven weeks. The video of Vashakati was shot in the streets of Oshakati by one of the most gifted local music video production companies, Black Pearl Visuals. The theme behind Vashakati is because the duo hail from Oshakati and everything they went through to be successful.
Kwaito Genesis has been sponsored by 7Stars Trading. The album is available at Deco House in Shoprite at Oshana Mall in Ongwediva, Kapana Service in Ondangwa and at 7stars Trading in Windhoek and will be available around the whole country within a month. The album includes songs such as Hola Kanjani, That side, Olukanda, Ondjila and Still Hoping. The album includes an experiment with the Oviritje genre with the song Omanatje which everyone should try and listen to. One of their songs from the album, Julle Ken, has also reached the Energy 100 FM Top 10 Kwaito chart
This Kwaito duo are so determined and believe that “with the introduction of House music in the industry that everyone is after, it does not make them insecure with what they do, since Kwaito is someone’s creativity and nobody can change that”.
