WINDHOEK-The Ohlthaver and List (O&L) group of companies is searching for students to apply for its Talent Attraction Programme (TAP).

 

The programme was launched in 2008 by O&L and according to Roux-ché Locke, Group Manager: External Relations at O&L, the purpose of TAP is to identify, attract and retain talented Namibian graduates who display the passion and potential to be developed into future Leaders of the O&L Group of Companies. “We want to provide valuable development and work experience to TAP candidates to enable them to become competent and self-driven in their careers. Through TAP we also wish to commit to developing Namibians citizens, developing scarce skills, attracting and retaining high calibre candidates, and addressing its agenda of diversity in the workplace,” said Locke.

 

Locke says the total TAP intake are 39 candidates to date. “We take in students yearly depending on the company needs and the needs vary yearly,” She affirms adding  that there are specific requirements  for students to qualify and apply for the programme. “Students are required to be Namibian citizens, superior academic achievements, should be a Bachelor degree holder by the end of this year, highly ambitious, self-motivated and self-driven, goal achievement oriented, and team player with highly level of integrity and customer oriented.” she said.

 

The programme will only offer graduate employment opportunities to students in the specific  fields of study such as the Marketing, Digital Marketing, Industrial Psychology, Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations Management, Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) and Finance.  Successful candidates will be appointed on a 12 months fixed term contract by which during this period the employee will be on a development probation programme during which his/her progress and development will be evaluated on a monthly basis and after successful completion of the programme the employee will be offered a permanent employment agreement.
