Masilingi takes action to Switzerland

After clocking an incredible 49:88 seconds to clinch top honours in the women’s 400m at the recent World Athletics Orlen Janusza Kusocinskiego Memorial in Poland, one of Namibia’s leading sprinters Beatrice Masilingi will today be back in action when the Top Athletics Lucerne gets underway in Switzerland.

Masilingi, along with her ‘partner in crime’ Christine Mboma, have both been on fire as they continue with preparations on the European athletics circuit ahead of their participation in next month’s Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan.

While Masilingi shone at the Orlen Janusza Kusocinskiego Memorial, Mboma was equally unstoppable at the recent World Athletics Continental Tour in Madrid, Spain, where she won the 200m race in a time of 22:79 seconds.

Inspired by her last performance in Poland, Masilingi will today be expected to build even more strongly on that performance when she takes to the Allmend Stadium track in the women’s 400m event as she continues to ramp up her preparations.

The Top Athletics Lucerne is a silver status certified event and forms of World Athletics’ Continental Tour meetings. For this year, it will also serve as one of the remaining Olympic qualifiers for athletes who have not yet qualified.
