To accelerate development in Oshana, the region’s development coordinating committee (RDCC) recently met at the Engombe growth point in the Uuvudhiya constituency to report on the progress made on capital during the current financial year.

The committee, which reports to the regional leadership, also gave feedback on projects earmarked for the region for the next financial year.

The meeting aimed to reflect on progress made and for the committee members to account for initiatives undertaken in the region. Oshana chief regional officer Teopolina Hamutumua encouraged the committee to continue working hard to ensure that development and basic services are brought closer to the people.

“I am very excited; in fact, 90% of the institutions were represented at this meeting, and they came in full force, fully prepared and with all the required information,” she said.

The committee members showed their gratitude for the progress made in addressing development in the region.

 “We need roads, a clinic, a police substation and a school in Uuvudhiya because our learner population numbers are always going down because of long distances to schools,” said Lusia Shipiki, who is a member of the Uuvudhiya constituency development committee.
