It is talent night again for the coast as Poetic Healing present ‘Jill of all Trades’ the monthly poetry show tomorrow at Splush Lounge (next to Casa Mia Hotel) in Walvis Bay.
This is the second culture-based entertainment show of the year where first time poets, musicians and comedians are presented with a platform to share their talents with their community. Frieda Shikoyeni, one of the organisers, says every month they have a specific theme and this month’s theme “Jill of all Trades” is translates into a woman who can juggle many activities at once. “We invited the advocate for woman empowerment, Port Terminal Manager at NAMPORT, TEDx and Swakopmund Licence holder and Community Activist, Ipupa Kasheeta, as a special guest to inspire the community and talk about how she is a ‘Jill of all trades’ in her own capacity. She will be interviewed before and after the show,” says Shekoyeni.
The entertainer promises a night of musical entertainment, laughter and inspirational reflection. Shikoyeni adds that when they first started they only had poets and as the year went by, they added comedians and musicians. “There is a lot of talent in Walvis Bay and we urge these talented individuals to come out in their numbers and share their passion,” she says. Ticket are N$30 in advance and no tickets will be sold at the doors which are opening at 18H30 with the show start at 19H00.
