Police have questioned several people, including a relative of six-year-old Adrian Myne Oswyn, whose body parts were found scattered in and around a sewage pond in Karibib.

The boy disappeared on 3 October this year. 

Erongo police chief Nikoloaus Kupembona said the remains were yesterday positively identified by the grandmother to be that of Oswyn; however, DNA testing still needs to be conducted for confirmation.

A police team of Karibib on Tuesday initially found two legs, arms and feet in a plastic bag, floating in the sewage dam.

His torso and head were found yesterday morning within the same vicinity as the other remains.

Oswyn, who was described as a happy child, was a learner at Ebenhaeser Primary School in Karibib. He went missing last Monday from their home in the Harambee location to visit his grandfather, who also lives about a 100-metres from them.

According to earlier police reports, he was escorted by his grandfather halfway back home. 

Sadly, he never made it home.

His mother last week allegedly took some clothes for him under the impression that he is still with his grandfather.

“She was informed that he went back home already on Tuesday. That is when she started searching for him and also reported him missing to the police,” the police commissioner said. 

“We have not charged anyone yet, but I can confirm that we have been questioning people, including a relative of the minor.”

 He also indicated that a team of experts were dispatched to help with the investigation. 

He then called upon the community  to remain calm and refrain from spreading unconfirmed information and rather support the family in need.
