Renowned NUST researcher commits suicide

WINDHOEK – An associate director and renowned researcher at the University of Science and Technology (NUST) committed suicide on Sunday.

Dr Ayetuoma Cyril Ogbokor, 56, was found dead in his flat in Pinnacle Court on Orban Street, Klein Windhoek. According to the police, Ogbokor fatally shot himself with his 7.65mm pistol in the chest. The motives behind the suicide are unknown as there was no suicide note found at the scene.
At the time of his passing, Ogbokor held the position of associate director in the Faculty of Management Sciences.

In a press brief, the university described Ogbokor as a renowned researcher who contributed immensely to the faculty and the institution at large.

He served as acting dean from 2016 to 2017 in the Faculty of Management Sciences. Ogbokor held a Doctorate in Economic Science and over the years wrote and published extensively in peer-reviewed scholarly journals.
