Priscilla, The Namibian Dessert Queen, has found love again and is officially off the market now that she married her sweetheart Ray Sydney Musirika-Apollus in October 2022 in Okahandja.
Ever since she met her better half, the songstress always wanted to be ‘Mrs Apollus’, and with God’s grace, her dream came true, she told VIBEZ!
The singer, songwriter, plus-size model, founder of the ‘Love Yourself’ campaign and motivational speaker said it was through loads of prayers and fasting they came this far under their slogan, ‘We are walking with God’.
“It feels amazing to be married and I am totally overwhelmed by the feeling. I married my best friend, my go-to person, my ride or die – the one I found my peace and comfort in, my person whom I tell everything to, the one I cry with and the one I laugh with, the one I pray with and the one I make jokes with,” she beamed with joy.
They were introduced by a mutual friend, and it definitely was not love at first sight, but they have grown to love one another over the years, said Priscilla.
With this being her second stint at marriage, she said she has learned it is important to communicate and keep her true self in the union.
“It is important to understand your partner and that he is a unique individual with his own needs and desires as am I. It’s crucial to talk when you are not happy or to keep open communication channels on everything. The biggest lesson I have learned from past mistakes is to keep your relationship private and to work on whatever you might be going through in the house alone.
“Marriage is like a perfect triangle – only God, the husband and the wife – so whatever happens inside your house, it’s best to resolve it with each other than go to someone outside that might end up gossiping about your relationship and breaking it down.”
The Dessert Queen describes her husband as the quiet type, an introvert, although an extrovert around those whom he knows.
“He fills me completely where I lack. I’m a very impatient person who gets angry quickly; call it artistic nature. I also have mood swings, especially when I write music and songs. He is a great listener, and he encourages me a lot with my ‘Love Yourself’ campaign as well as my singing. He is my biggest supporter and cheerleader, a great father and a greater husband.”
On the music side of things, she decided to take a year off but will definitely release her fifth album next Valentine’s Day.
The mother of three thanked God for her second chance in life to meet her husband and start their life together.
“We have built each other and helped one another when the one was down. We are looking forward to our future together and definitely walking with God.” – slunyangwe@nepc.com.na
