Pulse of the Youth: Omungwelume Gears Up for a Festive Celebration

Omungwelume, a small settlement in the heart of Ohangwena region, is set to come alive this December with the Pulse of the Youth Festival Volume 2, a four-day celebration of entertainment, culture, and creativity.

Scheduled from 18–21 December 2025, the festival runs under the theme “Youth Empowerment Through Culture and Creativity.”

The idea first took shape earlier this year when a group of passionate young people hosted a one-day trial event in June to gauge community interest.

To their surprise, the response was overwhelming, the crowd turnout was huge, the atmosphere electric, and the message clear: Omungwelume was ready for something bigger.

Building on that success, one of the organisers, David Jeremia, popularly known as Daves ATM, said this year’s expanded edition aims to deliver an even more dynamic and meaningful experience.

“Over four exciting days, festivalgoers can look forward to a lineup that blends entertainment with empowerment,” Jeremia said. “The programme will feature a youth expo highlighting young innovators and entrepreneurs, a talent night, the Miss Omungwelume Beauty Pageant, and live performances by popular artists including Exit and Daymenmet,” he said.

Beyond the fun and festivities, Jeremia made it clear that the Pulse of the Youth Festival carries a deeper mission to empower young people, celebrate culture, and strengthen community bonds.

“Hosting it in December provides a positive platform for youth to channel their energy and creativity after exams, while creating opportunities for learning, exposure, and collaboration,” he stated.

What truly sets the event apart is its grassroots spirit. The festival is entirely funded, organised and financed by young volunteers committed to uplifting their community. Their dedication reflects the very heartbeat of the festival youth empowerment through action.
