…BA, Arrows at coast

WINDHOEK – Going into his 7th game in charge, Ramblers interim coach Jorge da Purificacao has quelled any suggestion that his unfashionable outfit could face the drop at the end of the current MTC Premiership campaign.

The Tunschell Street Boys are cruising on an amazing 6-match unbeaten streak in the league and will face their sternest test of character when they entertain title chasing Tigers at the Sam Nujoma Stadium in Windhoek tonight at 20h00. Ingweinyama will be well advised not to slip on a potential banana peel when they collide with their fast improving cross-town rivals in the peak of round 16 matches. Bobby Samaria’s charges are flying high at the top of the MTC Premiership log table with a healthy 31 points, 12 points clear of Rammies. In current form, statistical probability suggest that Tigers should coast to a comfortable win against their mid-table opponents, but the Donkerhoek outfit should not take anything for granted as they could end up at the wrong end of an upset against the resurgent Rammies.

Fresh from their midweek 1-0 triumph over Civics, Namibian champions Black Africa go into their match against Eleven Arrows as clear favourites when the two teams clash at the Kuisebmund Stadium in Walvis Bay tomorrow. Tura Magic host Dawid Snewe’s giant killers United Stars in what promises to be an action packed encounter between the two mid-table teams in the first of a double header, featuring FNB Orlando Pirates and Rundu Chiefs at the Sam Nujoma Stadium tomorrow at 19h00. Still licking their wounds following last weekend’s shock defeat at the hands of league rookies United Stars, Katutura glamour football club African Stars will be out to redeem themselves at the expense of traditional bitter rivals LHU Blue Waters in the 2nd of a double header at Windhoek’s Independence Stadium on Sunday at 17h00. Civics entertain the league’s new boys PC Blue Boys in the curtain raiser.
