WINDHEOK– RAT and Shannon & Simon are the acts featuring tonight at Franco Namibia Cultural Centre (FNCC)’s Acoustic Friday,
A songwriter, a vocalist and a drummer make up the local acoustic trio of Ray Seedfeldt, Anesh Morar, and Tania Ott known as RAT. Their harmonic vocals, touching tunes and casual attitude make listening to them blissful. Their music ranges from cover songs to original tracks that go from ‘heartfelt serenades’ to ‘foot-stomping belters’.
Opening up for RAT are singer Shannon Grellmann and guitarist Simon Celliers, knows as Shannon & Simon. Shannon is an upcoming English and Afrikaans singer. In 2013 she recorded her first demo CD, Humble Beginnings, with Groove Studio in Windhoek and Traxtudios in South Africa. Humble Beginnings consists of 15 cover songs. Simon and Shannon first performed together this year at the World Music Day at Palm Tree Park. Together they perform music that ranges from country to acoustic pop. According to Shannon “music truly expresses that which cannot be said, and on which it is impossible to be silent”.
Tickets are N$30 in advance and N$50 at the door, and show starts at eight O’clock in the evening (20h00).
