From the small town of Rundu, Fabiah, best known by her stage name Fabiah Kavengeretwedamundiro is determined to make a name for herself in the music industry, making waves in the Afro-Pop scene.

The upcoming artist describes her journey as one driven by passion and persistence.

“Music has always been more than just sound for me,” she said.

“It is a way to share emotions, tell stories, and connect with people.”

Fabiah drew inspiration from some of Africa’s biggest female icons, Brenda Fassie and Makhadzi: “Their energy on stage and the way they connected with people made me dream of becoming a successful African artist.”

Those influences are evident in her choice of beats musical style, which aims to tell African stories through music, all while keeping it modern.

Like many independent musicians, Fabiah has faced challenges, especially in reaching a wider audience for her craft, but this did not demotivate her; it only pushed her to persevere.

“But technology and social media have opened doors that weren’t available before,” she noted.

Fabiah currently has four songs on YouTube, giving her fans a glimpse of her blended sound.

“Each song I release is a piece of my journey. I want my music to inspire people and make them feel something real,” she said.

Her dedication to her craft is matched by a determination to remain true to her Afro-Pop and cultural roots, ensuring that her music reflects both her deep-rooted heritage and modern African influences.

Fabiah states that she is excited about the future and eager to see the impact her music will have. “I dream of following in the footsteps of Brenda Fassie and becoming one of Africa’s most influential female artists,” she concluded.

When asked what she would want her fans to take from her music, she said she hopes her audiences can find a connection to their roots through her music, all while balancing tradition, energy and creativity.
