Namibian model, Salmi Nambinga, has been chosen as a national director of the Face of Beauty International (FOBI) pageant.

Salmi being given a big opportunity by the founder of the pageant, Mila Manuel, is an honour and privilege for her since she wants to help young aspiring girls who want to take their modeling careers serious. “This is a wonderful opportunity for me to work together with the young beauty queens who would like to represent Namibia on an international level,” says Salmi. As a national director she have a duty to put together information for the contestants including materials to help models with wardrobe requirements and travel arrangements. Beauty, brains and role model this are the criteria she will be using to select a delegate who will represent Namibia at the fifth edition of FOBI this year.

Salmi’s future plans are to work together with Namibian models and see them making a career in the modeling industry. The face of Beauty International pageant was created in 2012. In only four years the pageant has grown to become internationally renowned. The pageant has been hosted in the beautiful countries of Thailand and Taiwan. Face of Beauty International 2016 (fifth edition) will officially be hosted by Leptin Mongolia, LLC, live in the land of blue skies, Mongolia end September beginning October.

Yeraldi Barraza from Mexico won Face of Beauty International 2015 in which 60 women competed for the crown on October 19, in Taiwan last year. “During my participation in FOBI last year, I have learnt a lot from the pageant organiser and the contestants. I have managed to make it to the top 15 and I was the second runner up in the best in beach wear during the Bikini show,” says Salmi adding that the pageant aims to empower contestants to find beauty and to become that beauty by gaining greater confidence in themselves through sharing their knowledge, experience, and developed skills with many young women who struggle to find their beauty and potential in themselves.

Face of beauty contestants and winners continue to be Faces of Beauty worldwide and encourage young women to find their own beauty/confidence. “I want to remind models that beauty is a pre-requisite when it comes to beauty pageants, but they also have to carry themselves well,” she says.
