Spotlight with Adriano Visagie masterclass

Trying to break through the entertainment world as an actor can be a daunting task.

Thus, award-winning actor Adriano Visagie is hosting a four-part MultiChoice Spotlight masterclass series.

This quarterly masterclass is designed to empower grassroots Namibian filmmakers with practical business and performance skills and to feature thematic areas that contribute to a cohåesive learning journey.

Inspired by Visagie’s longing to see people who looked like him or the stories that reflected his reality, he knew that he wouldn’t just watch television one day – he would be onscreen.

“The MultiChoice Namibia Spotlight with Adriano Visagie was born from that purpose where passion meets business. The film, theatre, and performance ecosystem is vast, yet many talented voices remain excluded from access and opportunity,” Visagie said.

“Through this partnership with MultiChoice Namibia, the platform exists to equip grassroots actors, filmmakers, and performers with the professional and business tools needed to confidently enter, navigate, and thrive in the performance industry – creatively and lucratively.

I believe in the notion that everyone deserves a platform and is here to give back. No matter who you are or where you come from, your dreams and stories are valid,” he said.

With four in-person sessions planned throughout the year, the masterclasses will explore the business of acting, personal branding in the creative sector, and opportunities such as the MultiChoice Talent Factory, which is currently accepting applications for its next student cohort.

“Because MultiChoice believes in investing in the communities it operates in, partnering with Adriano Visagie represents our contribution to growing the local film industry into vibrant economic hubs,” said MultiChoice Namibia Director Roger Gertze.

“By upskilling our creatives, we are prioritise hyperlocal storytelling and empowering creatives to build sustainable careers,” he added.
