Debmarine Namibia Premiership champions African Stars aim to expand their brand in other regions with the establishment of African Stars’ supporters clubs.
The club will host a congress this weekend in the capital, which is aimed at registering supporters to the club.
Supporters’ club spokesperson Kavezemburuka ‘Sieggie’ Veii-Mujoro, said the meeting will see members elect a new leadership, as well as adopt the club’s constitution.
“The supporters will contribute an annual fee to the club. There will also be some benefits to the members of the supporters’ club, which we will reveal later.
We are adopting the new constitution of the supporters club which was never there in the first place. We are also going to elect the new leadership which will then go out there and establish new branches and regional structures,” added Veii-Mujoro.
He noted that one of the benefits that the team is looking at is to provide unlimited tickets for subscribed supporters to all African Stars league games. The supporters club will be closely working with the team to ensure they reach out to all regions.
“But once we have established the club, the numbers will then tell us who to approach for various benefits. The official opening of the club will be done by club chairman Salomo Hei. In addition, we have appointed Dr Kaire Mbuende as the patron of the club,” added the spokesperson.
“For you to be able to enter the supporters’ club meeting, you need to pay a fee of N$200, which can be paid to our FNB account, Katutura branch 64284403555. We are calling on fans to come in numbers and attend this event,” said Veii-Mujoro.
African Stars’ acting chairperson of the supporter’s club Corry Katjiru said it is important for fans to attend this meeting, which will cover the history of the club, and also meet some of the legends the club has produced over the years.
“We are going to have so many things to discuss and touch on Saturday. We will issue membership cards to fans, and this meeting will help fans familiarise themselves with the club’s history. We will have legends in attendance who are also going to touch on some of the club’s memorable moments,” he added.
