With over a 1000 submission from more than 300 individuals, Streethouse Clothing has unveiled its top 16 competitors for its Streethouse Tee competition.
It’s now up to the public to vote for their favourite designs, for the 16 competitors to stand a chance of being in the final top five. Last month Streethouse called upon creatives from all corners of Namibia to submit T-shirt designs for its in-house lifestyle brands NY-Star & Homegrown with the aim to empower and promote local talent and products also thereby providing a platform for aspiring and seasoned designers or art/design enthusiasts in general to showcase their creativity.
The Creative Director at Streehouse, Davison Mutinhiri, describes the competition a great success. “The response to this competition was overwhelming. Our vision to reach out to the majority of youths with this competition was met and truly there is a lot of talent within Namibia,” says Mutinhiri adding that the “judging process was long and the judges had to be strict on selection ensuring that all designs selected where in-line with the rules and the set out brief.” The competition also aims to empower scholars and design students by providing them with a platform to exercise and sharpen their design techniques and creativity. It can also be used as a fun and competitive platform for them to weigh their competitiveness in a real life setting.
The public can vote by sending an sms of their favourite t-shirt design to 5002. The designs and codes can be viewed on Streethouse Facebook Page, facebook.com/streethousedesignatee and on the website www.streethouse.com.na. The voting deadline is this Sunday, May 24.
