MTC Premiership title chasing Black Africa lost valuable ground when the Gemengde outfit was humbled 2-0 by league rookies Young Chiefs at the Uukwangula Stadium outside Oshakati on Saturday.
Second-half goals by free-scoring midfielder Edmund Amugogo and winger Eilo Shipalanga did the trick for the league’s new boys. Woody Jacobs’ brigade finished the match with ten men following the second half dismissal of reliable defender Denzil Haoseb.
And to compound matters, the latter lost two teeth during the ill-tempered clash after he collided with a Chiefs player, subsequently suffering concussion as a result of the ensuing fracas.
The defeat left the record four times Namibian champions now trailing log leaders Tigers by a worrisome seven points deficit with eleven matches still to go before the curtain comes down on the 2015/2016 campaign.
In Saturday’s other action, Tura Magic had the better of the exchanges as they narrowly edged Citizens 2-1 while Ronnie Kanalelo’s Unam’s woes continued with another lackluster performance – going down 1-0 at home against fellow mid-table side Mighty Gunners.
Elsewhere, Rundu Chiefs eased their relegation worries with a comprehensive 3-0 mauling of relegation-bound Flamingoes at the Rundu Stadium.
It was a spotless weekend for Young Chiefs after the league’s new boys collected six valuable points that could come in handy come end of the season.

Also yesterday, Black Africa dusted themselves off from Saturday’s defeat against Young Chiefs when a nine-man BA beat Rundu Chiefs 1–0.
