WINDHOEK– The Namibian Film Commission (NFC) has nominated Toucy Uazepaije Tjijombo, AKA ToucyT, to represent Namibia at the Pan African Film Festival slated for February 6-17 in Los Angeles in the United State of America (USA)
ToucyT won a short film script writing award twice in row for the movie, Tjiraa, in 2011 which is already produced and was aired in New York City among other places last December. And in 2012 again she won the script writing award on a film Runaway Himba Gal. The Namibian multi-talented entertainer featured as a near-by background in Get Rich or Die Trying with 50 Cent, Freedom Land with Samuel L. Jackson, Bedford Diaries and Law and Order – Trial by Jury and did principle roles with numerous independent film makers in movies like Playboy, and Green Card which were aired on Manhattan Channel 67 and on Jump Offs Movie too.
She designed and took part in the Ovaherero Dress Completion in 2012 were she took the 3rd designing prize. “Last year, I couldn’t part take because I went to Ecuador to the World Youth Festival,” she says. ToucyT adds that she is very grateful to the NFC for giving her the chance to go to what she believes is her second home since she studied and stayed there for some time. “This will be a good networking opportunity,” says she.
“Namibia is a blessed nation with lot of talented people,” she believes, urging the Namibian youth to keep on upgrading their talent for they don’t know where it could take them.
