In advocating and harnessing Namibia and African culture, Afroprint Line has launched Project Roll-A-Dice to test people’s knowledge of local and continental matters through captivating music entertainment.
The founder, Ndeshi Fikameni said Project Roll-A-Dice aims to innovate Swift 30, a game show that is evolving from its origin as a board game by showcasing Namibia’s rich and diverse culture through engaging entertainment trivia.
“Project Roll-A-Dice takes the shape and form of a quiz show where contestants are invited onto the Game Show while our live presenter, Sibongile Tshabalala, will ask them questions on the Namibian to African cultural and creative sectors including related trivia for a chance to win up to N$21 000,” said Fikameni.
She added: “The team with the highest score at the end of three rounds of word/ image descriptions, the rapid-fire quiz, and guessing the song will then be crowned Swift 30; The Game Show winners proceed to the bonus round where they can win up to N$15 000. The Game Show tests the contestants’ deepest knowledge of Namibian and African cultural and creative sectors.”
She said the game show is set to release five episodes, each lasting twenty-six minutes, with contestants participating and the show will be available on streaming options such as YouTube and the Swift online platform. The team has added the African Cultural Edition board game saying that, “this special version focuses on cue cards on Namibian and African culture, music, arts, and related trivia.” “The recruitment of various creatives for the project further emphasises its ability to foster collaboration and create meaningful opportunities in the creative industry. Project Roll-A-Dice is funded by the Sound Connects Fund, an initiative by the Music In Africa Foundation (MIAF) and Goethe-Institut,” stated the spokesperson of Afroprint, Tia-Zia //Garoes.
She added that the Sound Connects Fund is made possible with the financial contribution of the European Union and the support of the Organisation of ACP States. Mission and Impact: Project Roll-A-Dice is a celebration of Namibian and African culture and is a testament to the creative spirit that thrives.
