ONGWEDIVA – The National Training Authority will only be sending the best of the best to compete at the global skills competition taking place next year in Lyon, France.
NTA’s projects manager Sense Shoolongo said the NTA is busy with the National Skills Competition, which is expected to officially begin on 26 September 2023.
The northern Vocational Training Centres (VTCs) that are going to partake in the competition are Nakayale, Valombola and Eenhana.
He said other vocational training centres will also be part of the World Skills National competition, and their focus will be on exhibiting different programmes which VTCs’ offer as career options.
Shoolongo noted that preparations are going well, despite some delays which they are facing in terms of logistics.
“We are going to have 30 exhibitors present, 14 competition skills, and 160 competitors,” he said.
Competitors should thus not be deterred when they are not be selected to travel to France, as they will still have an opportunity to walk away with monetary prizes.
Shoolongo said entrance to the event is free, and they expect a large number of attendees.
