Zambezi preliminary results’ uploading awaits final verification

KATIMA MULILO – Most constituencies in the Zambezi region managed to upload their preliminary results on the ECN portal close to 19h00 on Friday.

Katima Urban, Katima Rural, Sibbinda, Linyanti, Kabbe South and Judea Lyamboloma were all spotted hard at work at the regional council’s legislative hall of Katima Mulilo, finalising the verification and auditing process.

Kabbe North, Kongola and Linyanti constituencies were housed at the Ngweze Community Hall, and were doing the same.

Kabbe North constituency returning officer Sydney Imwaka said that out of 17 polling teams, only one was outstanding to be uploaded by around 18h00.

Also confirming the upload was Bernard Milinga of the Kongola constituency, who stated that all 18 preliminary results of his constituency were uploaded, and were awaiting only the final verification and auditing before the official announcement.

Each constituency has a verifier and an auditor to ensure that all preliminary results tally and are correct.

Meanwhile, electoral officer for the Zambezi region Lesley Simwanza has appealed to all political party agents to be patient, as the ECN exploits all means possible to subsequently announce the election results of the region.

Simwanza on Thursday night directed that all regional constituencies facing a slow pace in uploading their preliminary results camp at the Ngweze Community Hall and the Legislative Hall in Katima Mulilo to finalise the auditing and verification process.
